  • K-11: Not suitable for those under eleven years. Video games with this category contain mild violence, bad language and sex references.
  • K-13: Not suitable for those under thirteen years. Video games with this category contain moderate violence, bad language, sex references and soft drugs.
  • K-15: Not suitable for those under fifteen years. Video games with this category contain intense violence, bad language, sex references and soft drugs.
  • K-18: Not suitable for those under eighteen years. This is a legally restricted category, and is not allowed to be seen or played by children under eighteen years. Video games with this category contain strong violence, bad language, sex references/activity and hard drugs.

Children that are two years younger than the given rating (with the exception of K-18) is allowed to view it but with parental guidance.

All video games that are supposed to be available to those under eighteen must be submitted for rating. But, video games that are for adults don't but VET can still inspect the video game if it wants to.

Prior to 2001 VET used to ban video games for being exceedingly violent.
