Voat is a social media website competitor to Reddit that grew in popularity due to communities that were banned from Reddit taking up residence. Differences to Reddit include a commitment to anti-censorship (which used to be Reddit's former stance, until management faced threats of advertisers threatening to leave unless content was policed more thoroughly), and an ad-share program for users that submit content to Voat.
