Volleyball Manager is a volleyball management simulation game, written by Polish volleyball fans Tomasz Ślusarek and Wojciech Sapiecha and developed since 2005. It is a non-profit project and the game is distributed only as freeware. The full version of the game was released on 26 September 2007 and is named Volleyball Manager 2007. An English beta version of Volleyball Manager 2007 with updates and patches (Volleyball Manager 2008) was released on 17 February 2008.

On 22 July an English version was released, containing also a Dutch beta version. On 21 February 2009 the authors released a final update of the database to season 2008/2009. Then authors released Volleyball Manager 2009 and 2010 with many new options that enable for the first time play in manager career mode and contains extended players' statistics from player's league competitions. The game enables play with 854 clubs in 77 league competitions in 37 countries over five continents and to lead one of 96 national teams. The game contains more than 11,000 volleyball players.

Volleyball Manager 2010 which contains a game engine in 2D format and a scouting system that will allow player to find new volleyball players for his team.

Next ersion Volleyball Manager 2012 was released on 29 April 2012 and contains updated squads, optimized programme code and new functions like coaches and their assistants of every team and new way of growing players' skills.

Newest version is Volleyball Manager 2013 version 1.37 where new options are: new competitons,national supercups,junior championships,improved training and scouting,database update for season 2013/14 and English, Polish, Italian and Czech interface.

The game, written in .NET Framework, includes leagues Italian Serie A/Serie B, French Pro A/Pro B, Russian Superligue and Vyzsha Liga A, polish PLS, Brazilian Superliga and Argentinian Especial Liga, all European cup competitions) fully detailed national competitions (Olympic games, World Championship, World League, Volleyball World Cup, continental championships), FIVB and CEV rankings, press releases, bookmakers' odds, and options like training and tactics set-up, sponsorship and finances. Graphics packs can be added to display players' photos and club logos in the game (official or made by fans).

VM is still under development. The game is available in four language versions: Polish, English, Dutch (beta-version - 22 July 2008)and Italian (1 November 2009).

English, Dutch and Italian versions[ | ]

The English beta version (Volleyball Manager 2008) was released on 17 February 2008. It is an accelerated and patched version of Volleyball Manager 2007.

On 22 July 2008 a fully translated English version was released, also containing a Dutch beta version. A play-off phase of all-league competition, new elements of match tactics, and a pre-match briefing were added. A list of changes in the new version is given in: List of changes.
On 12 October 2008 a squad update to season 2008/2009 was released.
On 1 November 2009 a new version with an Italian language version, manager career mode, and extended players' statistics from player's league competition was released.

On 29 April 2012 authors released new version Volleyball Manager 2012 with updated squads, optimized programme code, new functions like coaches of every team and new way of growing players' skills.
