WCW vs. The World was the first WCW PlayStation videogame. Using the framework of Virtual Pro Wrestling, many wrestlers not affiliated with WCW were given fictitious names in order to avoid copyright infringement, but kept their movesets. WCW vs. nWo World Tour was the indirect sequel.
World Domination[ | ]
Control or conquer all your favorite WCW wrestlers - and their signature moves!
Brawl your way to the top through the toughest wrestling organizations in the world, schooling the other bad boys with all the punishing holds, blows and throws you've cheered to on TV. Only the strongest will bring home the belts!
Modes[ | ]
There are seven different modes to choose from.
League Challenge[ | ]
Choose a wrestler and take on the world's best, league by league. Each league has five wrestlers and a boss wrestler. Defeat the boss and add that league's belt to your collection. The boss wrestler is also unlocked for game play in Exhibition, Elimination, Tournament, League Match and Double Title matches.
Titles[ | ]
When a title is captured, it appears in the champion's picture on the Wrestler Select Screen. Each promotion has a different icon for their title, although no initials appear (such as WCW), but only in differences in shape and/or color. When a "Super" title is captured, all titles are unified into a bigger belt icon, as long as the same wrestler captures all titles.
Best of Seven[ | ]
Create your own belt after defeating seven randomly chosen wrestlers.
Exhibition Match[ | ]
A typical singles match. The 3 Falls option can be applied to this match.
Elimination Match[ | ]
Choose a team of five wrestlers and choose between Tourney (where the winner stays on to fight) or vs. League (where opponents are in a predetermined order).
Tournament[ | ]
Compete in a pool of up to eight wrestlers, either title or non-title.
League Match[ | ]
Compete in a pool of up to eight wrestlers in a round robin tournament, either title or non-title. Your final standing is determined by points: 2 points = win, 1 point = tie, 0 points = loss
Double Title Match[ | ]
Both wrestlers bet a belt saved on a Memory Card. (2 players only; Memory Card required)
