Windows/286 2.11 is a graphical operating system released by Microsoft Corporation in March 1989. This version of Windows 2.0 was specifically designed to run on the Intel 80286 CPU, although it would also run on the Intel 8086 CPU, only without Higher Memory Area (HMA) support. This was a bugfix release with some changes to memory management, AppleTalk support, and faster printing along with updated printer drivers. This version of Microsoft Windows was superseded by Windows 3.0, although support was officially discontinued on December 31, 2001.
