Windows 3.00a is an update to the Windows 3.0 graphical operating system released by Microsoft Corporation in December 1990. Support officially ended on December 31, 2001. The OEM release Windows 3.0 + Multimedia Extensions 1.0 was based on this bugfix release.
Features[edit | edit source]
Windows 3.00a is a bugfix release to Windows 3.0, and mostly revolved around fixing errors related to the Windows DOS Extender, where problems might occur when DOS programs are called into Real Mode despite Windows 3.0 being loaded in 386 Enhanced Mode. The installation process was also simplified, and several crashes related to printing, networking, and low-memory conditions were also fixed.
