Wipeout HD is a futuristic racing game, and is the eighth in the Wipeout series. The game was originally only available for digital download, but later saw a retail release in Europe, bundled with the Fury DLC package. The game was given away for free as part of the "Welcome Back" program after the PlayStation Network outage.[1] It was consequently the first game available for free on PlayStation Plus's Instant Game Collection.

In the update that was released to incorporate the Fury expansion pack, Sony added in-game advertisements that played before the race.[2] This was criticized by critics, and was soon removed following complaints.
Fury[ | ]
Fury was the first and only downloadable content pack for Wipeout HD. Within this expansion, two new modes were added. They were Eliminator, Zone Battle and Detonator. The pack also contained eight tracks, all from both Wipeout Pulse and Wipeout Pure. Additionally, the pack came with 13 more unlockable trophies.
